It is a popular monarchy between the southern mountains and the Mystic Forest and is currently ruled by a sun elf king. It is one of the Five Kingdoms of Valkion. The kingdom is known for its academy dedicated to magic, as well as many other arcane spectacles throughout the region. They hold the largest understanding of magic and the most influential school of magic on the continent. It is also known for its proclivities to sexuality—particularly its king having many mistresses (referred to as concubinas), and a societal importance on brothels. ## Geography #### Arcanaos Plains ... Plains that make up the majority of land in the kingdom. It retains relative humidity and is often hot and sometimes arid. It consists of two regions; highland and lowland. The highlands are known to be a harsher climate while the lowlands are arid yet more tame. - **Asolear**: The great city capital. It holds the royal castle, as well as the Academy, within its walls. - **Solaris 'Aevum' Academy**: The most resourceful and influential school of magic in Valkion. - **Southern Church**: One of the four churches of Saia, maintained under the name of Sorathane. #### Sieshe Valley ... A large valley that makes up the eastmost region of the kingdom. Its walls consist of the Curación Hills, Odysse Mountains, and the Ashen Hills of Axonder. - **Equinox Academy**: A noble academy that welcomes the nobles of Ithor, and those privileged enough to come from Axonder. #### Wilderness ... - **Encante Forest**: also known as Mystic Forest; A magical forest of mystery and unsolved origins. - **Cliffs of Euphis**: Famous cliff-side region of the Odysse Mountains, known for mines and alcohol. - **Curación Hill**: A massive hill that extends into a range of hills in the east of the kingdom. ## Society #### Demographics ... ... #### Politics ... ... #### Notable people ... - **King [[Elious Ithor]]**: The King of the Kingdom. - **Concubina-Real ...**: The primary concubina to Elious and holds the most power and authority out of any of his concubinas. - **Princesa ...**: Eldest daughter of ... and has the most importance of his children. There are several noble houses that hold great importance within the kingdom. Their influence is determined by their wealth, relationship with the royal family, and status among the nobility. Due to the value of magic in Ithor, it's likely for more prominent nobility to wield intricate and impressive magics. Some of the noble houses are the following: - **House Iounus**: A very prominent family run by a duke. Once given to the first king's brother, it's now ruled by the current King Elious's cousin. - **House Calion**: A prominent family run by a marquis. They're known for their production of wine and defense against foreign lands. - **House Reygua**: Family run by a viscount. Known for leadership over Ithor's port city. #### Military ... ... ## History #### Independence from Sorathane ... Around the year 230 PD, war broke out within the walls of the [[Holy Kingdom of Sorathane]]. High nobility were in heavy disagreement with the society that was built around them. Three rulers took action against what they viewed to be corrupt leadership and unjust religious practices, thus initiating a civil war—now referred to as the [[War of Sunder]]. This war lasted for about 10 years before the first King of Sorathane succumbed and aided their departure. However, in exchange, the three rulers vowed to erect a church of [[Saia]] under the name of Sorathane. Ithor's church became known as the Southern Church of Saia. These three rulers split off from Sorathane, pursuing individual land under their leader's name. #### Founding of Ithor ... Those who followed the sun elf, Helios Ithor, ventured southeastward past mountains until finally settling before an incredible forest said to be imbued with magic itself. Their ruler claimed that this land was their destiny, thus finalizing their venture and begin building the foundation of what would become the Kingdom of Ithor. Helios Ithor became known as King Ithor, becoming the true leader and commander of those who followed him. Over the coming centuries, they would construct a castle, a city, towns, farms, and even a school for the magically gifted known as the Academy. #### A Kingdom in Aid ... Sometime around 430 PD, Ithor found themselves called upon by a newfound civilization attempting to broaden their defenses and seek aid—a newborn [[Kingdom of Axonder]]. Having assisted in their journey through the country in pursuit of the Lands of Despair, they had already offered aid once before. This time the kingdom was begging for help—monsters and creatures of the dark that lurked where they settled now threatened the entirety of their civilization. As such, Ithor offered their aid in knights and soldiers; wielders of the sun and light itself. With their aid, Axonder continued to prosper, and as such, formed an alliance with Ithor. To this day Ithor offers their aid with those who can cull the darkness, bring magical healing, and offer support in finances in exchange for lore of magic and relics found in the Lands of Despair. #### Current Day ... After many centuries, Ithor finds itself standing strong. With a supporting alliance, they are firm in their innate magics and understanding of the weave. The current ruling King Elious Ithor has taken in a wife and queen; one who resembles the people—a [[human]] with extraordinary magic who excelled at the Academy. Together, they have brought the kingdom three princesses, but seemingly struggle to bring the kingdom a prince—a true heir to the throne. ## Trivia ...
