Around the year 230 PD, war broke out within the walls of the [[Holy Kingdom of Sorathane]]. High nobility were in heavy disagreement with the society that was built around them. Three rulers took action against what they viewed to be corrupt leadership and unjust religious practices, thus initiating a civil war—now referred to as the [[War of Sunder]]. This war lasted for about 10 years before the first King of Sorathane succumbed and aided their departure. However, in exchange, the three rulers vowed to erect a church of Saia under the name of Sorathane. Ceilunea's church became known as the Western Church of Saia. These three rulers split off from Sorathane, pursuing individual land under their leader's name.
#### Founding of Ceilunea ... Those who followed the sea elf, Seiell Ceilunea, ventured southwestward through hills and plains before finding the breathtaking coast of Seiyuun—a sparkling, otherworldly sea so beautiful it must have been touched by the goddess Seiyu herself. Under the rule of the sea elf woman, the foundation of a free country was born. Workers under her domain began to build homes, docks, and ships. Within coming years, they crafted a civilization that spanned across the endless coast known as the Kingdom of Ceilunea, with Queen Seiell as their beacon of peace. Thus, over the next centuries, the port city was born.
#### At Heed of a Land from the Sea Over a century passed before conflict arose within Ceilunea. As they pursued the seas in pursuit of new land and trade, ships began to disappear. Rumors spread amongst the people—fear and panic quickly overcoming the masses as the seas they valued turned against them. However, Queen Seiell quelled their discomfort, offering words of prayer and succor. She vowed to venture into the seas herself to calm the waters in the name of Seiyu. Procuring a defensive ship, she did just that—but to her surprise, this journey led her to hostile tritons, assuming them to be a threat. It is said that she was taken in by these tritons, whether as a prisoner or guest, and offered them a vow of peace between their people. Meaning no harm, the underwater nation of tritons accepted her plea and, too, vowed to unite their nations. As such, their treatise resulted in the marriage of the queen and triton royalty as a show of their bond. This marriage would be passed on to generations onward.
#### Current Day ... To this day, the alliance with the tritons continues—represented in the marriage of the present Queen Sonelle Ceilunea, and a new triton king. The kingdom continues to prosper in trade and finances, as well as solitude within its walls. However, rumors speak of tension building between the border of Ceilunea and Sorathane as disagreement arises between the nations in regards to peace and land.

## Trivia ...
