Noble Houses of Axonder - The World of Syphora

All are governed by a chosen head of their family, and the most influential of them are said to bear a [[Mark]]. While lesser-known or weak families lack much public knowledge, many have become commonplace knowledge amongst the Kingdom. ## List of Noble Houses #### House Axonder The royal family and ruling light of the Kingdom, currently led by Queen [[Aurora Axonder|Aurora]] since the year 722 P.D. in stead of King [[Aeon Axonder|Aeon]] due to an unknown or undisclosed sickness that has burdened him since the year 720 P.D. It has ruled the Kingdom since its founding in the year 415 P.D. over 300 years ago after its first and current ruler, King [[Aeon Axonder|Aeon]], liberated thousands from the [[Holy Kingdom of Sorathane]] in the [[War of Light and Shadow]]. After securing their independence from Sorathane, years of arduous travel led them into what is now known as the [[Aegisciel Fields]], in which House Axonder resides within the capital city of [[Aiōn]], and ruling over the surrounding territory under its domain. As the royal house, they hold great importance over the nobility in the Kingdom, with relationships far more direct and tight-knight than most others. This house claims the Mark of Scribing, said to bear the blood of the [[Gotheir|Artisan, Gotheir]], through their lineage. ##### Members ... - [[Aeon Axonder]] (bedridden): Founder and First King of the [[Kingdom of Axonder]] after liberating his people from the [[Holy Kingdom of Sorathane]] after winning the [[War of Light and Shadow]] in the year 410 P.D. He is a luxael [[elf]] who once hailed as nobility in Sorathane. He is known to many as their liberator and the "Guiding Light of the Kingdom." - [[Aurora Axonder]] (via marriage): First and current Queen of the Kingdom and said to be the third consort of King Aeon but the only one to be publicly known before marrying into the royal house in the year 707 P.D. She is a half-elf and is beloved by many as a caring, attentive, and social Queen. She now rules the Kingdom in her husband's stead after he fell ill. - [[Lucia Axonder]]: Princess and only child to King Aeon and Queen Aurora, born in the year 710 P.D. Little is publicly known of her, as she has almost entirely kept to herself until this year—Previously said to only show herself in society to aid her mother in nobility affairs. In the year 730 P.D., she has finally debuted into the society of the Kingdom after the [[Ceremony of Veil]]. #### House Ezel The sole ruling duchy in the Kingdom, run by black-skinned [[tiefling|tieflings]] and one of the most influential families within its walls. Its origin dates back to the founding of Axonder after [[Aeon Axonder|King Aeon]] granted his head general, [[Ezelete Ezel]], the title of Duchess. It is since run by her direct descendants. Ruling over the city of [[Ezel's Gate]], this family is located on the Western border of the Kingdom and is primarily in charge of guarding the border and controlling the passage in and out of the Kingdom—Often tasked with aiding and assessing travelers, conversing between Axonder and the [[Kingdom of Ithor]], and maintaining relationship with the [[Eastern Church]]. This house claims the Mark of Inferno, said to bear the blood of the [[Asphorus|King of Hellfire, Asphorus]], through their lineage. ##### Members ... - [[Ezelete Ezel]] (deceased): The first Duchess Ezel and head general of King Aeon during the War of Light and Shadow. She was granted the title due to her close bond and for fighting with her heart and spirit for not only the King, but their people too. - [[Keloch Ezel]]: The current Duke Ezel; A tall tiefling man with stern eyes and an intimating aura that speaks to his firm status as duke. - [[Vérène Ezel]] (via marriage): The current Duchess Ezel; A tiefling woman with a sharp gaze and tongue. - [[Zexel Ezel]]: Heir to House Ezel and son of Keloch and Vérène. His strength and wit has far outclassed even most knights, and bears the Mark of Inferno. - [[Azazel Ezel]]: Son of Keloch and Vérène. A quiet young man who was born without a mark and suitor to [[Lucia Axonder|Princess Lucia]]. #### House Foscerra By far the most influential county in the Kingdom, known for residing on the Eastern border within the wastelands of the [[Lands of Despair]], ruling the city of [[Foscerra]], and making expeditions into the Lands in order to document the land, its habitability, and hunt the monsters the reside in the bleak region. It is also in charge of Eastern defenses and uncovering/transporting relics found within the Lands of Despair. Due to influence from a civilization of dwarves to the South, its family often differs in many inflections and lifestyles than most Axondéens. ##### Members ... - [[Massimo Foscerra]]: The current Count Foscerra; A cheery man whose grown lax and resilient in his old age. - [[Giacomo Foscerra]]: Heir to House Foscerra and known as an incredibly personable man and even more capable fighter and leader of those who look to him for guidance. - [[Marcello Foscerra]]: Youngest son and middle child of House Foscerra; An introverted human with chronic tendonitis and suitor to [[Lucia Axonder|Princess Lucia]]. - [[Alessia Foscerra]]: Youngest daughter and child of House Foscerra. A bright, sweet, and albeit ditzy girl whose energy matches her innate ability to befriend most anybody. #### House Laval A barony that rose to power sometime around the Battle of Austère, ruled by [[human|humans]] said to bear the bloodline of giants. Its family resides within Ezel territory, and are maintained and kept in check by the duchy of House Ezel. It is tasked with researching and keeping the [[Shrouded Vale]] and the creatures that lurk in its obscene darkness in control and at bay from the rest of the Kingdom. The story of its origin involves a young boy who vowed himself to knighthood impressing the first Duchess Ezel and being granted title and territory. Its family rules over the town of [[Laville]], which resides on the outskirts of the Shrouded Vale. ##### Members ... - [[Gautier Laval]]: The current Baron Laval; A human man of incredible stature with a boisterous personality and a strong heart for protecting others. Having trained directly with the [[Knights of Eclipse]], his strength rivals even the strongest knights. - [[Adélaïde Laval]] (via marriage): The current Baroness Laval; A disabled woman whose many pregnancies have taken a toll on her body. She excels in tinkering and smithing, especially providing for Laville. - [[Désiré Laval]]: Middle son of House Laval and an exceptionally talented fighter. - [[Geneviève Laval]]: Eldest daughter of House Laval and a very quick-witted and friendly woman. - [[Clair Laval]]: Middle son of House Laval; Quick with a bow and passionate for his craft in archery and hunting monsters. He's also suitor to [[Lucia Axonder|Princess Lucia]]. #### House Nyxhallow A lordship that rules over the town of [[Nyxhallow]] in the [[Aegisciel Fields]] just North of the capital city and within House Axonder territory. While a minor noble family, it is known for holding records and ancient history of the Kingdom and lore of the world for centuries. Little else is known of the house beside for the immense impact that its current Lord's wife, [[Maven Nyxhallow|Maven]], has made for the noble family—Primarily due to her becoming lady-in-waiting to [[Aurora Axonder|Queen Aurora]]. ##### Members ... - ...: The current Lord Nyxhallow. - [[Maven Nyxhallow]] (via marriage): The current Lady Nyxhallow and lady-in-waiting to Queen Aurora. A purple-skinned [[tiefling]] who originally hails from the [[Kingdom of Ithor]], as presented by her accent, and often takes to aiding the Queen in most anything. - [[Riven Nyxhallow]] (via adoption): Heiress to House Nyxhallow and youngest daughter, having been adopted first between ... and Maven, she is an exceptionally smart in any studies she takes to and in combat that she channels through what she views to be the blessing of the [[Cylia|Dawnmatron, Cylia]]. She is a lavender-skinned tiefling with purple crystal horns and hooved feet, as well as a tufted tail reminiscent of a unicorn. - [[Noire Nyxhallow]] (via adoption): Eldest daughter of House Nyxhallow, but adopted after Riven. Though she presents as a [[human]], she is actually an [[alteius]] who bears the Mark of Twilight. She is an incredibly powerful caster of magic, capable of wielding black magic and lesser white magic. #### House Sûrhaven This lordship is in charge of the Northern forces and trains the vast majority of the Kingdom's knights. Relied upon for maintaining the [[Aegishold Fortress]] that protects the capital city of [[Aiōn]], its family also rules over the city of [[Sûrhaven]]. ##### Members ... - ... #### House D'Aquil Recently reaching greater importance in recent years, this lordship resides in the city of [[Fyrêt]], just West from the capital city of [[Aiōn]], and is the frequent next stop for those coming into the Kingdom and through [[Ezel's Gate]]. Although its importance within the Kingdom is being the main proprietor of farmland and crops, it is often hailed as the major stop between any traveler seeking knowledge or glory in Axonder. Most thank this family thanks to the prosperous nature of the land keeping the primary populous of the Kingdom from facing a famine. Due to a member of this family, [[Viviana D'Aquil]], becoming governess to [[Lucia Axonder|Princess Lucia]], they have risen ranks amongst most other nobility in Axonder. ##### Members ... - [[Viviana D'Aquil]]: Sister of Lady ... and governess to [[Lucia Axonder|Princess Lucia]] since she was young, acting as a tutor, informant, and nurse to her.
